Tornado Rehab

As a gouge and a scratch or two, and chips along the edges of the acrylic platter make clear, Will Sim's battered VPI Scout turntable shows it's survived some rugged treatment. 

A tornado, to be precise. 

After the dark clouds had lifted, splintered boards, shredded drywall and insulation and broken furnishings were strewn about. Their home in Dadeville, Alabama, was one of many destroyed by tornadoes the evening of April 27, 2011.

David "Honeyboy" Edwards 1915-2011

Sadly, we report that our friend David "Honeyboy" Edwards died Monday morning. He was 96.

Honeyboy was a true blues legend and was the last performing bluesman of a generation that was among the first to record blues music.

Acoustic Sounds Purchases Classic Records

Chad Kassem’s Acoustic Sounds has purchased audiophile industry leader Classic Records. "This is a big acquisition for Acoustic which will enable us to further increase our presence and reputation in the audiophile vinyl market worldwide," according to Kassem. “Over the years, Classic Records consistently was able to license the top titles that audiophiles wanted.
