Stylish DSD-Capable Portable Players from Astell&Kern Are Here

We're excited to be offering high-res file portable players from Astell & Kern. Liberate your DSD and PCM high-resolution music with the AK120 and AK100, now available from Acoustic Sounds!

The Astell & Kern AK120 and AK100 models from iriver, of Korea, are among the best-reviewed portable digital players on the market. The AK120 supports up to 192 gigabytes of memory, and is capable of playing 64x DSD files as well as PCM audio up to 24-bit/192kHz. The AK100 supports up to 160g of memory and handles up to 24-bit/192kHz files. See them both, here: http://bit.ly/18KM9BD

Each unit has a headphone output with sound quality and output (1.5V) that blows lesser capable portable players away. Inside the AK120 you’ll find not one, but two Wolfson WM8740 DAC chipsets. Each is dedicated to a single channel, unlike the AK100, which uses one of these DACs for both channels. The AK120 offers USB DAC capbility — connect the supplied USB cable between your computer and the AK120, designating the AK120 as your default audio device, and let the tunes flow! When used as a USB DAC, the AK120 supports files from 44.1/16 all the way up to 24/192 PCM and 64x DSD using audiophile software. Both the AK100 and AK120 have Optical and  USB DAC capability.

All this, in a small and elegant device housed in a black-anodized aluminum case. A 2.4” color touchscreen, side-mounted volume wheel and push buttons control the functions of the unit.

Reviewers have been lavish in their praise for the Astell&Kern players from iRiver, a Korean portable media company. We agree! Take a listen and set your high-res files free.
