Acoustic Sounds, APO visit Chicago
Story by Julie Hess
The long-awaited HI-FI show set the stage for some ground-breaking firsts for Acoustic Sounds and APO.
Owner Chad Kassem divided his time between two key points of interest
during the May show. At times his focus was the Acoustic Sounds booth,
where appearances and candid performances by APO recording artists Jimmy
D. Lane, Eomot RaSun, Jimmie Lee Robinson and David "Honeyboy" Edwards
occured while audiophiles browsed the Acoustic Sounds' "record store".
Other times his focus was the Dearborn One room where the unveiling of
APO's premeir DVD of "Honeyboy" Edwards took place. This great recording
played through Muse Electronics, Avalon speakers and Cardas cables
impressed even the most discriminating audiophile.
The four APO artists were also the headline act of the HI-FI Show where
their grand finale concert on Saturday night was standing room only.
It was the first time artists performed live at the Acoustic Sounds
booth, the first time APO was headline act for a major show and the
first APO DVD produced, which just happened to be the first DVD
featuring a blues artist. What an incredible show.
