Accolades For Shepherd's "10 Days Out"

Accolades to bluesman Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Reprise Records, and their team, for the DVD Video & CD "10 Days Out: Blues From The Backroads" for sales of more than 100,000 copies. Acoustic Sounds owner Chad Kassem received this platinum album plaque commemorating the sales achivement, certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Our own Blue Heaven Studios, here in Salina, hosted the 2007 concert and recording sessions that were the culmination of the film — documenting Shepherd traveling the U.S. on a pilgrimage to visually capture the musicians who influenced him, and who laid the foundation for much of modern music. The film captured a rapidly vanishing generation of bluesmen and women singing and playing with Shepherd, along with the Double Trouble rhythm section of Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton. The impromptu performances seen on the 10-day journey from New Orleans throughout the South and Midwest were recorded at both established venues and in kitchens and on front porches. A true keepsake, "10 Days Out" was nominated for two Grammys, for Best Long Form Music Video and Best Traditional Blues Album (Vocal or Instrumental).
